Abstract
This study explored the integration of yoga and psychotherapy, a practice known as yoga psychotherapy. Eight licensed psychotherapists were interviewed about their use of yoga in psychotherapy sessions, the paths that led them to this practice, and the components of a yoga psychotherapy practice. Information was categorized into common patterns that emerged as six themes which addressed the practice of yoga psychotherapy. These themes included a definition of yoga psychotherapy, developmental pathways of yoga psychotherapists, training issues in yoga psychotherapy, yoga psychotherapy in practice, ethical practice in yoga psychotherapy, clients and yoga psychotherapy, and the benefits of yoga psychotherapy.
