Abstract
A guide was created to inform mental health practitioners about the practice of yoga, to review research regarding the impact of yoga on anxiety, and to provide an overview of the ways in which the experience of yoga can be explored with a client in individual therapy for anxiety. Literature reviewed included yoga and anxiety research, complementary and alternative medicine, anxiety, mindfulness, and general exercise. With this information, the guide was created and included information about the differences and similarities between the hatha, ashtanga, and kundalini styles of yoga.
