The Middle Ages has a lot to teach us about what Easter and risen life means today. The focus of this presentation is on what medieval theology, spirituality, and art teaches us about the Easter mystery. It will explore the meaning of Holy Saturday and the Harrowing of Hell, what the resurrected person will be like in heaven, and how the Virgin Mary was linked with her son in terms of the resurrection. Fr. McMichael received his S.T.D. from Gregorian University (Rome). His areas of interest are The Resurrection of Jesus in medieval theology, spirituality and art, Easter Sermons in the fifteenth century, especially those of Roberto de Lecce, OFM and Bernardino da Siena OFM and The Theme of the “Image and Likeness of God” in Medieval Theology.
