Description

The arts often help address issues of deep theological concern, including the environmental crisis, death, health, and even the Covid crisis. The Garden: A Refuge, a filmed play, addresses all these issues by re-interpreting the biblical book of Job to feature not only questions about suffering, but why also it is essential to understand we are part of a more-than-human world. This talk will use clips from the film to discuss the play's background, the community involvement in constructing the play for empathy building, and how the dance, music, and acting employed offers embodied and tangible theology.
