Annotation

Manuscript study. Moss asserts the importance of the narrator who both tells the story and interprets it. Contends the older narrator’s perspective is critical to the reader’s understanding of “his own complicity and in the doctors’ apathy.” Argues against criticism that Hemingway omitted too much, thereby diminishing the role of the narrator.
