Annotation

Locates an additional source of information on Philip Percival, Pop of Green Hills of Africa and a possible partial model for Robert Wilson. Our African Adventure (1954) recounts the Mordens’ safari with Percival, including the retelling of a similar campfire story that Percival had told Hemingway years earlier and that later became the basis of “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber.” Blythe and Sweet draw several parallels between the Mordens’ descriptions of Percival and Wilson.
