Annotation

Psychoanalytic reading through the lens of abjection. Argues Hemingway’s reoccurring themes of pregnancy, wounds, illness, birth, and death demonstrate a preoccupation with the boundaries of constructed identity, which often appear blurry, fluid, and inextricably linked to the abject.
