Annotation
Examination of the 1924 volume’s paratextual and bibliographical features, arguing that its cover, dedications, paper quality, and advertisements not only reinforce thematic unity and heighten tension but also reveal much about its distinct brand of modernism and intended audience. In comparing in our time with later editions of In Our Time, Thurston concludes that the former provides more comprehensive visible content, thus making for a richer and more avant-garde presentation.
