Annotation

Draws on communication theory in his analysis of the couple’s interaction, arguing that their positions of power and distance allow for an accurate interpretation despite the small portion of iceberg available for critique. Lafuente Millán concludes that securing their respective aims and appearing deferential and appreciative of the other results in the man’s insincerity and domineering manipulation and Jig’s consequent, unhappy acquiescence.
