Annotation

Catalog of the 2003 exhibit on Hemingway’s youth spent in Michigan and his fiction derived from it. Svoboda’s accompanying literary biography explores Hemingway’s transformation of his Michigan experiences in “Up in Michigan,” “Big Two-Hearted River,” and “The Doctor and the Doctor’s Wife.” Includes twenty-one contemporary black-and-white photographs of Hemingway, Walloon Lake, and the surrounding area.
