Draws on a posthumous letter by Hemingway to identify and analyze the existence of the dead angle in the play, a safe location reoccurring in many of Hemingway’s narratives. Reflects on Hemingway’s construction of the “good place” in relation to Dorothy’s and Philip’s rooms and discusses the significance of their rooms to the play’s action and themes.
