Drink and Alcohol Literature: Two Critical Perspectives
Surveys the critical rift in approaches to American and British drinking literature. Klepuszewski concludes that while critics of British literature focus primarily on writers’ literary treatments of alcohol and alcoholism, critics of American literature focus most heavily on the influence of the writers’ addiction on their writing.
