Noting the challenges of prioritizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information in today’s digital world, Camastra links our present-day struggles to see clearly with those of Hemingway’s lost-generation characters. Discusses her adaptation of the “I-Search Paper” when teaching The Sun Also Rises to help students gain perspective. Student groups choose a historically or culturally related topic to research, resulting in a multimodal class presentation and brief paper. Appendix B (179-82) shares her I-Search Project prompt, including topic and website suggestions.
