Annotation

Spanier recounts the 1995 publication of Gellhorn’s play and outlines its feminist themes, arguing that it has more to do with war between the sexes than with war correspondents. Spanier also comments on the competition between Gellhorn and Hemingway, drawing on historical evidence and correspondence with Gellhorn to identify its actual and perceived elements.
