Influence study of Baldwin’s adaptation of Hemingway’s map of Paris from The Sun Also Rises as a model for Giovanni’s Room (1956). Parker focuses on geographical direction, symbolic place names, and themes of homosexuality and isolation to argue that expatriate authors projected their own psychological struggles onto foreign settings.
